The city of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu wanted its first sustainable development plan to lead to permanent changes within the organization. To this end, the environmental service wanted to offer a practical eco-responsible work guide for city employees leading to the adoption of concrete actions, thus adding to those already in place within the municipal organization.
We organized employee discussion groups, which allowed us to bring them on board right from the get-go. We then drafted a practical eco-responsible work guide that encouraged group actions and was adapted to the realities of their work environment. Because the actions were divided into two sections, individual and collective, we developed and held two awareness-raising campaigns to promote application of the guide.
Over 25% of the employees and eight of the ten city services are now committed to completing many of the actions put forth in the practical eco-responsible guide, both individually and collectively.
“The approach used by Takt-etik, based on innovative tools and direct interaction with the target clientele, led to the full success of this project,” Vincent Causse, Environmental Coordinator, Ville de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
“In this project, our priority was to let the employees take ownership of the sustainability-at-work guide. Through various focus groups, they played a key role in the process; they are proud to have actively participated in the project. No wonder then that the guide is a tribute to significant collaborative efforts.” Philippe, project manager
