Stakes
During the design of the “Grandeur nature” exhibition, museum management decided to adopt a sustainable development approach and conduct a first environmental diagnosis.
Actions
We started by forming a Sustainable development action committee and then provided training to managers in that regard. We followed up with a number of waste reduction, sustainable mobility, and awareness activities for the entire staff.
Results
The “Ruelle du réemploi”, a flea market of discarded material from dismantled exhibitions, is a good illustration of how the efficient management of residual matter can be integrated into museum practice. The 200-person objective was quickly attained for the March and September 2010 editions.
